Start Gantry

The gantry has been modified using Logo`s with white painted finish lines. The track switches are underneath the lane coloured markers. The signs were purchased through ebay. The control box was made out of the same material as the gantry, with connections to two transformers. Red / Yellow LED`s indicate power to each transformer and show shorts to the track. Power to the track is via spade connectors, which connect like the booster cables.

The lap display is controlled via a Mitisbushi PLC, giving lap positions throughout the race with two buzzers giving a count down, intermittant and continous sound on start for a peroid of time. As the cars go through the switches the first switch operation is ignored, then all operations are counted until reset.The length of race, start and reset can be programmed by the remote controller. The lap counter has been altered to include two cherry micro switches, as the car passes the wheel in the track the plastic is forced down operating the switch.

Ive ordered some blue LEDs for the gantry from Ebay to make the start line more attractive ideal for night time racing. These are to be mounted on the underside., hopefully it will look good......

Included are lap timers which cover two lanes at a time (interchangeable ), ideal for fastest lap competition, and setting up.
