Track plans

There are two proposed tracks for the 2009/10 season, giving the racers a chance to test there skill through  the sharp hairpins, and the speed on the straights. Included are 90`inner curves (C156) . There are no crossover sections  in track layout One. The track dimensions work out at approx. 4.3 m by 1.8 m.  A dog leg section has been incorprated to slow down the racers for the operation of the switches in the track, this has worked well. I`ve utilized two old track counters and fitted micro switches to count laps for each lane.

A chicane has also been used for a early warning to the bend.

Scenery                                               Doh !

There are now two spectator stands, two pit garages, and a control tower.

Circuit One

           Best possible with space available

Designed using Snaptrak software,

Race Positions

The four competetors stand at the right end to give full view down the track, and no moaning they can`t see. Various marshalls are postioned for spin offs. The counters are positioned about central, and can be easily viewed by spectators.

One end showing Start Gantry and my effort of scenery, a granstand with 'no' people, hmm exciting eh !

         2009  track layout                                                                                                  May 30th 2010

The bend at the lower end on the right seems to cause the most spin offs, the speed down the straight with the failure to slow down. I need to fit a perspex side to stop the cars getting smashed up !

Circuit Two   (with Bungle bend extention)

               Bungle bend !!!

Another circuit with an extension at the racers end, giving an improvement over circuit one adding a few more straights with a sweeping bend. This is the track I favor for 2010 race days..............The chicanes will be moved to the extension so the 90 degree bends are not so sharp. Included will be sponge walls at the speed corners, that always seem to cause the most damage.

My new project this year is to change the base board to plyboard (6mm), making it easier to transport, due to some new venues which is to take place in the summer. Included will be fencing ,some over head signs purchased from Slot Scenics...........
